The weather –  When to Visit Laos?

Laos weather is hot and of course humid, just like others destinations in the region. This country represents a tropical weather and climates with two major seasons. The rainy season from the beginning of may to the end of September, and the dry season which is from October through April. The yearly average temperature is 28 degree Celsius rising to a high of 38 during April and May. In Vientiane a low temperature of 19 degree is expected during the January. In mountainous areas , however, temperatures drop to as low as 14 – 15 during the winter month and in the cold nights can easily reach the freezing point. The average precipitation is highest in southern Laos, where the annamite mountains receives over 3000 mm annually. In Vientiane rainfall is about 1500 to 2000 mm, and in the northern provinces only 1000 to 1500 mm.

However, the best time to visit Laos is between November and April. The hot season in Laos starts from March to May where the weather is very dry and certain river trips are not possible.
