Vietnam Arts and Crafts: Not having much time in Vietnam but feeling interested in traditional handcraft villages of Vietnam by any chance? Then this trip absolutely suits your travel demand. With rich knowledge of our staffs, you will learn more deeply about various cultural features as well as interesting facts of each visited village.
What you experience
Vietnam Crafts and Artists shows you an introduction of traditional villages and rural life in Vietnam. You also visit some famous artists who are preserving their long-standing tradition for next generations. Starting in Hanoi with visits to see silk and incense, ceramic and painting villages, continuing to the central of Vietnam, the tour will visit paper flower, conical hat villages in Hue and see stone carving, lanterns, carpentry and bronze casting in Hoi An. The tour will end in Ho Chi Minh City where you will visit the lacquer-ware factory.
DAY 1: HANOI ARRIVAL (-/L/D)
Welcome to Vietnam, on arrival at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport, where our tour guide will greet and transfer you by private car through the city to your hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a trip to Van Phuc Silk Village in Ha Dong Town. Tonight, your tour guide will host a welcome celebration dinner at local restaurant with authentic Vietnamese cuisines. Overnight stay in Hanoi hotel.
DAY 2: HANOI (B)
After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy the morning tour to the Vietnam National Museum of Ethnology, the attractive collection of 54 ethnic minorities in Vietnam and then continue to visit Yen Phu Incense Village. In the afternoon, make your way to Bat Trang Ceramic Village and in the evening, free at your leisure. Overnight hotel stay in Hanoi.
DAY 3: HANOI – HALONG BAY (B, L, D)
Today, after your breakfast, go to Halong Bay, the world natural heritage site, so enjoy the drive though the rural area with scenic view of rice paddy field in the Red River Delta. You may be lucky enough to see cows or pigs on a motorbike or Vietnamese kids riding on water buffalo while flying kites. On the way, enjoy famous Vietnamese coffee at Vietnam Handicraft Center, check-in to Vietnamese wooden junk, and start the journey along the spectacular limestone islands, floating villages while having seafood lunch. Next, you will be disembarked to visit ‘Sung Sot’ or Surprising Cave, one of the most beautiful grottoes in Halong Bay and then continue to Titop Island where you can swim on the sandy beach or climb up to the top for panoramic view. In the evening, you will be delighted by candlelight dinner on board with seafood. Overnight stay on board in Ha Long Bay.
DAY 4: HALONG BAY – BAC NINH – HANOI (B, L)
A breakfast will be served in the restaurant with the combination of Western style and local style. Experience the Bay up close and personal with a leisure sampan tour to Hang Luon or Lagoon Cave, which allows you to see the flora and fauna system of Cat Ba National Park and then continue to Halong City. Disembark and enjoy seafood lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon, go back to Hanoi. On the way back, stop to visit Dong Ho Painting Village in Bac Ninh Province. The prints in Dong Ho are made with local wood and paper. The paint is also made from local organic materials like bamboo ash, ginger…and is applied to wood and pressed on paper. The process is repeated with different colors. The evening will be free for discovering Hanoi at night. Overnight stay in Hanoi hotel.
DAY 5: HANOI – HUE (B)
After breakfast, transfer to airport for short flight to Hue. Upon arrival, our local tour guide will welcome and transfer you to your hotel. The afternoon tour in Hue City includes Thanh Tien Paper-Flower Village and Tay Ho Conical Hat Village where you can learn the whole process to make Hue hat (“non Hue”) which is symbolized the beauty of Hue’s women. In the evening, free at your leisure. Overnight stay in Hue hotel.
DAY 6: HUE – DANANG – HOI AN (B)
After your breakfast, leave Hue for Hoi An. On the way, take panoramic photo stop at top of the Hai Van Pass or ‘the Pass of Ocean and Clouds’. Then visit the Cham Museum and Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village in Danang City, then continue to Hoi An. In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour in Hoi An to the Japanese Covered Bridge, Phung Hung Ancient House, Phuc Kien Assembly Hall and Chua Ong Pagoda. The afternoon peaceful boat ride along the Thu Bon River to Thanh Ha Ceramic village allows you to take a deeper look at ceramic techniques and compare products between the North and the center of Vietnam. The balance of the day is at your leisure on Cua Dai Beach. Overnight hotel stay in Hoi An.
DAY 7: HOI AN
Today, a guided walking tour in Hoi An shows you Hoi An Lantern Village, Kim Bong Carpenter Village which has long been famous with its arts of wood carving and sculptures. In the afternoon, enjoy a half day tour to Tra Que Vegetable Village where tourists are not only guided to make fertile soil and grow vegetables, but also learn how to make the cuisine from the vegetables in this place like the native people. Next is Phuoc Kieu Bronze Casting Village in which people make bells, gongs, gong-like music instruments, incense burners, lamp holders, ancient vases, and other bronze musical instruments which are normally used in festivals, ceremonies and daily life. You will be free for night walk in the street of thousands of lanterns reflecting on the water of the Hoai River. Overnight hotel stay in Hoi An.
DAY 8: HOI AN – HO CHI MINH CITY (B)
Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Danang Airport for short flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, check-in the hotel. Enjoy the oriental tour to the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, Colonial Post Office and War Remnant Museum. In the evening, enjoy free time in the city center. Overnight hotel stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
DAY 9: HO CHI MINH CITY TOUR (B/D)
The morning tour will lead you to Chinatown where you will visit Giac Vien Pagoda, Binh Tay Market where you can buy various things for gifts for your parents and relatives. In the afternoon, visit Thien Hau Temple, Quan Am Pagoda and enjoy shopping time in District 1 with Ben Thanh Market. Let’s experience true southern hospitality this evening with a candlelight dinner at local restaurant with southern taste. Overnight hotel stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
DAY 10: HO CHI MINH CITY DEPARTURE (B)
Enjoy the free time until transfer to airport for your departure flight.
