Day 1 – Ho Chi Minh City Arrival  (-/-/-)

Upon arrival, our guide and driver will transfer you to your hotel located in downtown of greater Ho Chi Minh City, Overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2: Saigon City Tour (B/L/-)

Start your day visiting two iconic architectural attractions, one at the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office built between 1877 and 1883 by renowned designer Gustav Eiffel. The cathedral still remains an active church with services each day and is the favoured backdrop for Vietnamese wedding photography. From the cathedral, take a short stroll along Dong Khoi Street to the Opera House. From a bomb shelter to housing the Parliamentary Lower House, the Opera House has had a vast history. Restored in 1995, the Opera House has returned to its roots and is once again a theatre. Next, visit the Reunification Palace, once a symbol of the South Vietnamese Government. It was here on April 30, 1975, that the war ended when a North Vietnamese Army tank crashed through its gates. See the war room, the banquet hall and the presidential office with the unusual gifts which have been received. In the afternoon continue on to the War Remnants Museum. Here, your guide will tell the story of the city’s darkest and most tragic hours during the Vietnam War. The museum contains displays of military aircraft, weaponry and many photographs – some that are quite graphic in nature. Head to Cholon (Chinatown) and Thien Hau Pagoda (dedicated to the Goddess of the Sea). Intricate friezes, carved tableaus and impressive incense coils make for some great photos. Observe street life with a cyclo ride through the narrow streets to Binh Tay Market that sells everything from hats to dried squid, Overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 3: Excursion to Tay Ninh and Cu Chi (B/L/-)

The Great Holy See Temple, built in 1926, is considered one of the most striking structures in all of Southeast Asia. It is the headquarter of the unique Cao Dai religion, a religion with a hybrid of Buddhism, Christianity & Confucianism. Above the entrance is the all-seeing holy eye – symbol of the sect. Visitors will attend the midday ceremony’s extravaganza to witness the daily mass held by the Cao Dai followers, a fantastic experience indeed. After lunch, proceed to Cu Chi to explore the amazing site where Viet Cong hid during the war. It is now a popular attraction for both locals & foreign tourists – the network of over 200km of tunnels became legendary when they played a vital role in the war. In their heyday, the tunnels were functioning underground cities consisting of numerous trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals and command centers with kitchens. There is plenty of evidence of the fierce battle that took place here during the 1960s when Cu Chi was a “Free Target Zone”. Visitors can watch a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed before entering the tunnels. Spend the next hour exploring the tunnels. Afterwards, enjoy tea and cassava (guerrilla’s food in war time). Return to Ho Chi Minh City for an overnight stay.
