Following program designed for travelers with deeper interest in Vietnam, you’ll visit the key sites of Hanoi, as well as Ninh Binh known as Halong Bay on the ground….
Day 1: Arrival Hanoi (-/-/-)
Upon arrival, our guide and driver will be transferring you to your hotel in the charming downtown of Hanoi, Overnight stay in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi City Tour (B/L/-)
Pick up to visit Hanoi, we start from the Old Quarter. Next, we take you to visit Ho Chi Minh Complex, including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum – the final resting place of the Vietnamese great father commonly known as “Uncle Ho”, President Ho Chi Minh’s Stilt House – where he lived from 1958 to 1969, tourists will learn what he has done for Vietnam and some other countries including all kinds of information about himself. After, we will visit One Pillar Pagoda following a visit to the Temple of Literature. Following lunch is a visit to the Ethnology Museum where you have the great chance to know about culture, customs, languages and the houses of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. We end the day tour at Hoan Kiem Lake in the heart of the city, Overnight stay in Hanoi.
Day 3: Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Hanoi (B/L/-)
After breakfast starts a day trip to visit Ninh Binh Town, we drive through rural Northern roads of Vietnam to Vietnam’s first capital, Hoa Lu. After visiting the two remaining sanctuaries of the ancient citadel, take a sampan on a river through the rice paddies to the grottoes of the sacred Tam Coc Caves. Enormous limestone karsts jut out from the green rice fields giving rise to this place’s other name, ‘Halong on Land’, then the final drive back to Hanoi for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay (B/L/D)
After breakfast we drive to Halong and arrive around 12:00 PM to hop on board the traditional junk. Lunch is served on board so enjoy the serene view of Halong Bay while the junk cruises through the limestone karts including inside the magical landscape of Dinh Huong Island, Ga Choi Island, Dog Island, Binh Phong Mountain, Sung Sot Cave and even stop for a while at Titov Beach for swimming in the warm waters. Enjoy the sunset on top of the Titov Mountain or take a bamboo rowboat to discover water tunnels with many coral reefs in a scenic lagoon. Then it is back on board the junk to enjoy dinner. Overnight on board the junk.
Day 5: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Da Nang – Hoi An (B/L/-)
Wake up to the sounds of the bay and have breakfast on board the traditional junk while we cruise to Bai Tho Mountain in the other beautiful Bai Tu Long Bay before we cruise back to the Halong Dock. Lunch on boat, then our driver picks you up to transfer you directly to the airport for a short flight to Danang, arrive and transfer to Hoi An. Overnight stay in Hoi An.
Day 6: Hoi An (B/L/-)
Our guide picks you up from the hotel in Hoi An at 08:00 am for the day tour in Hoi An Town, start our morning by strolling around Hoi An’s ancient town: Chua Cau or Japanese Covered Bridge – considered the symbol of Hoi An as the finest example of Japanese architecture. Step back in time to discover the Chinese Street with stunning Phuc Kien Hall and Phung Hung Old House typical of Hoi An original architecture. We then visit the Hoi An local market and ancient port to explore the rhythm of local daily life and savor the true color, flavor and taste of the oriental. Finally, we visit Phuc Thanh Pagoda – the oldest pagoda in Hoi An built in 1454 with Chinese Bronze. Have lunch in the local restaurant with signature specialties of Hoi An: Cao Lau Noodle and White Rose Dumpling. Transfer back to the hotel around noon. Overnight stay in Hoi An.
Day 7: Hoi An – My Son – Hue (B/L/-)
In the morning, take a 2-hour drive to My Son to explore the ancient Champa Kingdom. In the afternoon, drive to Hue through the Hai Van Pass, and go along Lang Co Bay to reach Hue, the ancient capital of Vietnam from 1804 to 1945. Check in at the hotel and take a rickshaw tour to Dong Ba Market, crossing Trang Tien Bridge over the Perfume River. Spend the night at the hotel in Hue.
Day 8: Hue – Saigon (B/L/-)
Discover Hue City in the morning with a visit to the Imperial City of the Nguyen Dynasty. After visiting the Imperial City, take an hour-long cruise on the romantic Perfume River. Then drive to visit the Celestial Lady Pagoda, an ancient Buddhist monument before returning to the city for lunch. Spend the afternoon exploring the Tu Duc Royal Tomb. Depart for Hue Airport for a short flight to dynamic Ho Chi Minh City, arrive and check in, Overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 9: Sightseeing in Ho Chi Minh City + Excursion to Cu Chi (B/L/-)
We start to visit Saigon’s historical landmarks including the 1880s General Post Office and the late 19th Century Notre Dame Cathedral located in a peaceful part of the city. Next, we visit the Reunification Palace which was once headquarters for the Saigon Government during the “American War”, and the War Remnants Museum which displays relics from the American War. We then have lunch at a local noodle soup restaurant called Presidential Pho 2000, being named due to a surprise visit by the former US President Bill Clinton during his visit that year. After lunch we will travel out of the city to the Cu Chi Tunnels. This vast network of tunnels, stretching over 150 kilometers, was built by the Viet Cong in the battles for the South. The tunnels are a sobering insight about the dedication of the Viet Cong who lived almost entirely underground in the narrow and claustrophobic tunnels. Return to the city for an overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 10: Departure (B/-/-)
End of the trip, transfer to airport 3 hours before departure.
